Progress update: data generation, artificial intelligence, real-time algorithms

Fraunhofer IZFP research activities within the project are focused on the development of a multi-dimensional feature based artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm for the detection of degradation of aged industrial polymers (i.e. neoprene in a first step) by use of the IR measuring device that partners will develop. During the project period to date a uniform data format has been created which will enable the fusion of data from all methods applied in this project. To enable efficient data exchange and providing (preliminary) results among the project team a server solution was provided. In the next steps partners will provide data which will be used to create a representative dataset for the development of a suitable machine learning model. The acquired data will be extended by AI based augmentation and simulation techniques.
